​Progressive and Sustainable Economic Growth To Achieve Wawasan Brunei 2035

Wawasan Brunei 2035 aims to make Brunei Darussalam into a nation which will be widely recognised for the accomplishment of its well-educated and highly skilled people measured by the highest international standards; quality of life that is among the top 10 nations in the world; and a dynamic and sustainable economy with income per capita within the top 10 countries in the world.

JPKE, is one of the main government agencies responsible to steer Brunei Darussalam's socio-economic development path. It is timely that JPKE sets its vision to help Brunei Darussalam attain "Progressive and SUstainable Economic Growth to Achieve Wawasan Brunei 2035". A progressive and sustainable economy is one that is continuosly growing at a rate that is able to optimise opportunities while at the same time capable to fend itself off from both internal and external adversities.

JPKE, therefore, needs to change itself into a dynamic and effective driving force to ensure that Brunei Darussalam moves forward to accomplish Wawasan Brunei 2035 goals.

​​Visionary Economic Planning, Innovative Implementation and High Quality Statistics

In line with the above vision, JPKE as a central economic planning organisation plays a pivotal role in helping Brunei Darussalam attain progressive and sustainable economic growth. Therefore, to realise its vision, JPKE will endeavour to provide:

Visionary Economic Planning: JPKE will plan ahead with sound and holistic policies, justified with robust research and development and backed by quality statistics, with the involvement of cross-sectoral stakeholders.

Innovative Implementation: To enhance effective implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP), JPKE will ensure greater involvement from all sectors of society particularly from the private sector, entrepreneurs and business start-ups, through the provision of conducive business eco-system backed by robust research and development, supported by alternative financing such as through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism.

High Quality Statistics: JPKE will provide comprehensive, timely, accessible and accurate statistics consistentn with international standards and best practices to support the planning, implementation and monitoring of various activities in every aspects of the community and nation in the context of national development.
